Reason you live in Victoria?
I live in Victoria because it is a beautiful and relaxing place to live – the ocean, the festivals and food & wine scene – this is what I enjoy.
Favourite alcoholic bevvie?
My favourite wine of the moment is a really great Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon – Heitz Cellars is probably topping that list.
Your comfort food?
Comfort food for me is Sheppard’s Pie or anything my husband whips together at home.
What do you do on your time off?
When I have time off I enjoy kayaking, touring through wine country and walking through Beacon Hill Park.
Once certified through the International Sommelier Guild in 2006, I chose to relocate to the Okanagan and fully immerse myself in "wine country". The crush of 2007 was my first opportunity to really get my hands dirty, joining Sandra Oldfield at Tinhorn Creek Winery as a cellar hand. From there I worked at Burrowing Owl Winery for two and a half years in their restaurant, witnessing firsthand the 2008 & 2009 vintages. For the last year and a half I have been in Kelowna, working to re-vamp a local resorts wine program, facilitate wine seminars at the Spring, Fall & Winter Wine Festivals and judging at the "Best in Varietal" competition.
